MOT Type 1 named after the Ministry of Transport (MOT) specification for granular sub-base material is the most widely used approved sub-base in the construction industry. It consists of crushed aggregate (gravel) from 40mm to dust. Ideal as a sub-base for driveways and paths when compacted, with excellent load bearing properties.
